I always love the Toast styling for any season. Their summer catalogue makes me wish desperately for some sand and sun. Any lovely plans for the weekend? I am going to tackle some sewing, and maybe a project or two that has been waiting on my list.
.
Have a good weekend! Thanks for all the well wishes-- I am actually feeling much better today, so lets hope it stays that way. Enjoy the summer weather!
.I am feeling the sickness curse today. All of a sudden, my throat was swollen and my nose has been stuffed like crazy. I thought colds were only supposed to come around in the winter. It should be a rule.... Anyway, I'll leave you a few of my favorite Zooey Deschanel pics. I have a whole folder of them, so I probably will share the rest periodically. I just love her! .
Hello friends! It is such lovely weather outside today! I am glad that we are finally in the clear from all of the rain we have been getting lately. I spent the afternoon outside eating lunch and looking at some of my old magazines while I listened to music. I love lazy afternoons. . I thought I would share some pictures from our D.C. trip: . This was in the historic part of Alexandria. We visited the docks first. . This is a shot of the historic streets. They are so cute! .
This was inside of Paper Source. I wanted to take all of this gorgeous paper home with me! This was part of their new line of Japanese paper.
This is the black and white checkered floor in the vintage ice cream shop we stopped in. Nothing better to cool you off than Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream.
Happy Friday! Been feeling lazy since I got back from D.C., so looking forward to getting some things done on the weekend. Hopefully I'll finish cleaning out my desk and start back to sewing and making patterns. Any exciting plans for anybody? My advice (hopefully some advice I can personally take) is to relax and enjoy the sunshine. And maybe find a necklace like this lovely ladies. Gorgeous!
Sorry I have been out of commission of late... jumping back into life outside of vacation, that sort of thing. Don't worry, I will be more on the ball next week with good inspiration. .
For now, feast your eyes on the gorgeous photos of model Angelina Lindvall and her boys in her Topanga Canyon home for British Vogue. Beautiful.
Two things we already miss in D.C.: Au Bon Pain and their delicious blueberry muffins. Add a cold pomegranate Izze and we're in business. . {Melissa} . ::via me
Because I Said So is one of my go-to movies when I want to watch something fun. One of the reasons I love it is because 1. Mandy Moore wears some really cute outfits, and 2. the sets are sooo inspiring! I found this blog a while back and about died in heaven! They post about recreating the interiors shown in movies and television shows, and lo and behold: the above pictures were waiting there, just for me! (Well, not just for me, but...) Check out more here if you are interested.

Wishing everyone a happy weekend! I will be on a plane tomorrow heading home, and I am looking forward to a long awaited meeting with my bed.
Isn't this bag fantastic? I LOVE it. so.very.much. Find the instructions on how to make one yourself (I know!) here. This is going to be a good summer challenge for me. I can't wait to start.
The talented ladies of Carrot and Stick Press, Susie Gelbron and Julie Walker, have created a collection of folded notes, place cards, place mats, gift cards, notebooks, and table cards that would have anyone swooning at their talent. Their products are available in a variety of colors and prints that would suit any mood or personality. The notebooks (featured above) are my very favorites of their collection. Measuring 5-1/4 x 8-1/2 inches with 64 blank pages, and only costing $6 dollars per notebook, they would be the perfect item to stock up on for gifts or to scatter around the house to keep track of all your "to do's". I personally love the yellow stripe, reminiscent of hot summer days lounging on the beach in the sun drinking a cold glass of lemonade. With notebooks this cute, who wouldn't want to tote these along? Hope you had a good weekend and Happy Monday.
Megan and I are headed for a busy weekend, trying to fit everything else in we planned on seeing. We are looking forward to our last full week in D.C. before heading home, so I thought I would just stop by for a quick hello, and wish everyone else a good weekend. I am ready to try something new, so I'll have to see where my adventures take me! Wish us luck.
I loooove this shop! I wish I was in New York right now so I could hurry and get my fill of their delicious goods everyone raves about! Owned by model/pastry chef Taylor Foster-Allen and photographer/food lover Joshua Allen, this pair definitely got it right when they went after their dream of creating this bakery. If I ever went into food, I would probably do something more on the baking side--chocolate overrules any day. I also love the look of the interior. It is homey-feeling, yet incredibly chic. Too cute.
Hello Tuesday! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Megan and I had a good time exploring D.C. I finally have almost all the pictures we have taken so far up and running, so I will be sharing soon! For now, I'll share my favorite find of the day.

Ooh...don't these look delicious? I am definitely going to try these for a scrumptious breakfast sometime this week. So easy to make too. A great combination. See the recipe here. Photos by Karen Mordechai.

Just a short hello, but I will share more tomorrow!
