Happy Monday!

Water for Elephants

I am starting to read this for the upcoming movie that is set to come out in 2011, starring Reese Witherspoon, who will play Marlena Rosenbluth, and Robert Pattinson, who will play Jacob Jankowski.

Kate Spade's Deborah Lloyd

A few weeks ago I expressed my love for Lonny Magazine. The new June/July 2010 issue came out a few weeks ago and spotlighted co-president and creative director Deborah Lloyd's home. She describes her home as "feminine and elegant with a bit of quirkiness."

I really love her style. I think that this home is such a great source of inspiration.

I am sorry our blog has been neglected so much these last few weeks. Melissa and I are enjoying some fun in the sun...and love that summer has finally arrived.

I found a lovely article on Rita Konig's new home in Manhattan, featured in New York Magazine. The home is described as "higgledy-piggledy" NeoEnglish, and I must say I love Konig's style and want to try and replicate what she has done for her home.

9 by Design

Can you believe it is already June? I will be finishing up my Spring Term classes next week and I couldn't be more thrilled. Right now I am swamped with two big papers that are due in the next few days, but after that everything should calm down.

Melissa and I have recently discovered the series 9 by Design on Bravo, and we have fallen in love with the adventures of this quirky family and the amazing interior projects they feature on the show.
.

I particularly love the names of their seven children. Wolfgang, Bellamy, Tallulah, Breaker, Five, Holleder, and Major.

Feeling Blue?

I am loving the whole nautical themed items at Anthropologie right now. Those plates on the bottom? I absolutely adore them. Seeing them in person is way better. I had to restrain myself from buying them.

Sorry for the lack of posting, hopefully we will get back on track soon-- just dealing with other problems that will soon be solved, then (hopefully) on to the redecorating...

Hello again!

Sorry I have been so absent these past couple of weeks. School just about beat me, but I made it through and I will definitely be living up the summer. There are some projects in store, let me tell you... but, you'll have to wait in anticipation :)

Just an FYI: the blog is going to get some much needed sprucing, so don't be alarmed if things look a little messy when you check back. It will be worth it in the end. We won't be able to post as often during the construction, but full reporting will continue afterwards.

Floral Frenzy

Has it really been since April 18th that we last posted! My how time flies. Melissa and I both finished our finals last week...and I am now beginning Spring term classes today.

The Girls with Glasses

Brooke White (singer/songwriter and American Idol alum) and Summer Bellessa (model and editor of Eliza Magazine) have joined forces, creating The Girls with Glasses Show.

I first saw their video on The Flowerchild Dwelling and it really is too cute!

I would love to know where they found all the vintage dresses seen in the video...I was drooling over all of them!

Creativity before Consumption

The other day I stumbled upon the fabulous home of Emily Henson, a prop stylist and decorator, who lives in northeast Los Angeles, in a 700-square foot bungalow. "A big believer in the importance of personal touches, nearly every inch of the home has seen Emily's paintbrush or been customized in someway". Emily's motto is "creativity before consumption" and this is definitely extended throughout her entire home.

.

Her experience as a Display Coordinator for Anthropologie can be seen throughout every room. I particularly love the green velvet sofa (an Urban Outfitters piece found via craigslist) and the open cabinets in the kitchen showcasing all of Emily's bright wares. This is getting tucked right away into my inspiration file.
