The Latest Looks

I am loving this photo shoot with Emma Roberts. The clothes are divine, and it makes me dream of vintage summers full of bike rides and coca-colas.

Happy Monday!

Looking forward...

Often people live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in doreder to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want. Margaret Young

I have caught the dreaded sickness bug, so I am stuck in bed catching up on some homework. I'll leave you with a quote and a lovely pic, and some well wishes for any weekend fun.

See you on Monday!

Dace Collection

I always look forward to seeing the new Dace campaigns, and I wasn't disappointed. Their clothes always exude modern sensibility with their combination of clean lines and ethereal, light fabrics. Love it!

Hooray for the upcoming weekend!

Penelope Costumes

One of my new favorite movies is Penelope. Did anyone else enjoy it like I did? One of the things I adored most about the film was the costumes. I would love to wear anything Christina Ricci gets to wear. Here are some of my favorites:

If you check out this site here there is a portion of the See Magazine article about the inspiration behind the clothes. I love this quote:
.
"The brief about Penelope was that she's lived in her own little world all her life. She's had no outside influence and has never really been out of her room as she's been hidden away by her parents. We tried to put things together for her in a sort of quirky 'other-worldly' way. . . So, we took lots of ribbons, braid, buttons, brooches and cross-stitching and decorated pieces for her, so as to give the impression that she'd customized some of her clothes herself. Things have turned up in her room and she plays with them-- she's very inventive and quite eccentric and adds bits and puts things together in her own unique way."
.
Wouldn't it be great if we could all be a little bit like that?
.
Enjoy!

Tea Party Anyone?

Another week begins! I don't particularly enjoy Mondays, but at least I am comforted knowing I can't do anything to stop it from coming. I am so sad that Domino is closing its pages soon. -sniff- Plus, I just got news on Friday that Country Home is also shutting down. What is happening to the magazine world? My reading reading pleasure has taken a serious hit.
.
Anyways... does anyone else love tea parties like I do? A couple of years ago, Megan and I threw one for ourselves. We did it outside, and made paper flower lanterns that hung from the trees. I did all the baking, and we had the traditional summer food like a chicken salad sandwich, bite-sized treats, and lemonade. It was really lovely and relaxing.
.
I love this British-style tea party from Domino's Rita Konig. The recipes are seriously making me drool.

Nostalgia

Happy Friday! I love the weekend, even though it goes by too fast. With the sun peeking through the last couple of days, I hope that I can grab some time to relax.
.
I love vintage images, and these are no exception. By the designer Amy Rowan, she showcases the eclectic and timeless images from earlier generations. One of my favorite items is the Perpetual Calendar. Those are some of my favorite images from the set. I love it all-- there is nothing better than great paper goodness. Check it out at Art School Girl here.
.
Have a good weekend! Make someone smile.
